[There's a lot he should say. He knows what he did and he saw what happened. He ignored it, kept going and ultimately... No good, respectable leader runs from his problems, even if the people he's leading aren't around to see it.
So it's one in the morning when there's a light knock on the door. And Lio on his side of the door looking - and feeling - very small while he waits for a response if one will come.]
[Here's the thing about Galo: When things are going on, he doesn't sleep. And there have been a lot of fires to chase lately. So he's a bit wired, a bit awake--and a bit lost in thought on just what the hell Lio was thinking, because if anything (or anyone) was behind those fires, it was him.
And that's when there's a knock at the door. One in the morning. Either it's another fire call or--or, or, or. He wasn't going to get his hopes up for the other option.]
Yeah--
[But it seems like the other option is what's standing on the other side of the door when he finally does swing it open.]
[Lio quietly nods. Takes a couple steps and stops in the doorway, hesitating before taking the next step into the entranceway. It's a big deal, coming to what had become Galo's and his own home after what he'd done.
He stands there awkward. It doesn't feel like he belongs here anymore.]
[He looks so small, out of place. And what he says--he came here, came home, because he didn't know where else to go? Would Lio even be here if he had other options?]
Been waiting for you to come home, you know...[The reply is just as quiet as the words that prompted it, followed by the hollow sound of their door closing. Boxing them in until they dealt with this fallout.]
[Something about that, the door closing, and Galo's tone feel... ominous. He hasn't felt a chill in years but one shoots up his spine before he settles again.
Galo probably hates him for what he's done. Killing him, leaving, and then going on an arson rampage (though not nearly as bad as he had on Promepolis). Lio rubs at his bare arm nervously. How long has it been since he's felt nervous? How long has it been since he cared what someone else thinks of him beyond leadership?]
I-- I know. [A good leader knows when to admit mistakes and try to fix them.] I'm sorry.
You should be. [He says with a sigh, shoving his hands in his pockets as he glances away from Lio. It's either a pout or a frown tugging at Galo's lips, marring his expression as he considers what to say next.
He's not mad, just...disappointed? If that's even the right word.]
I was worried about you. Especially with the fires...Kept them under control while you burned out what you had to.
Congratulations! You've been nominated by a young man who I dearly hope is your friend for a role in my play. I'll need to you come to the Community Theater in Nonah at once.
I can manage that! I had speeches prepared back home all the time. And if you can memorize the rule book for a Burning Rescue team, you can get almost anything...
[Oh, this might actually be a good fit. He's pleasantly surprised.]
Next week. I had a few last-minute drop outs. Are you up for the challenge? ...And I just might make it a one night only special. [For his diminishing sanity. He was trying not to drink, after all.]
[He's not sure if he has faith exactly, but he has hope that it'll at least be entertaining with this guy on board. He's long adjusted his expectations. This was never going to be good, after all.]
Do you think your friend, Lio, would be amenable to playing a role? We have a few vacancies.

Lio...[Be it an apology, an explanation, or whatever, Galo would hear it. But he also knows Lio well enough to step aside, door open.]
Talk inside?

I mean sure! Why not?! All for the public right?

Now, it is the starring role, and... [He doesn't want to scare him off by admitting that there are a lot of lines. But...]
There are lines to learn and a costume to fit. I hope your week isn't too terribly busy.

[Look. At the very least you have someone that's going to be dedicated as if it's his one and only job.] We'll make sure this show is a hit!

Yeah! I'm sure he'd be up for it. Has the flare for dramatics too.
